Special Service Freight Company of the Carolinas (SSFC) is an asset-based regional 3PL serving the Southeastern U.S. and Greater Chicago markets. Headquartered in Charlotte, NC,we bring more than 38 years of experience and a strong legacy of service, reliability,and operational excellence.

Our mission—to treat our customers as “Primus inter pares,” first among equals—guides our commitment to delivering high-touch, value-added services that traditional carriers cannot match. Through a hybrid network of corporate stations, licensed agents, and strategic partners, we support domestic and international first- and last-mile freight for the forwarding community.

SSFC operates 16 terminals with over 600,000 sq. ft. of warehousing and coverage across roughly 5,000ZIP codes. Our dedicated, GPS-tracked fleet includes straight trucks with liftgates, sprinters, cargo vans, and tractor-trailers, providing flexible,responsive local and regional capacity.

We offer a full suite of services including P&D, hotshots, white glove delivery, air charter and JIT support, MedTech and high-tech handling, retail rollout services, bonded operations, cross-dock and warehousing, ocean devanning, PMC breakdown, and convention/event logistics.

As a TSA IAC carrier with multiple bonded facilities, Hazmat certification, C-TPAT self-compliance, and a SmartWay-aligned fleet, SSFC maintains rigorous safety and regulatory standards. Our operations are powered by the Fleet Enable TMS/WMS platform, giving customers real-time visibility and seamless digital workflows from quote through POD.
