Cross-docking: Swiftly transferring freight from inbound to outbound trucks. Special Service offers storage solutions too. Certain items discouraged.
Cross-docking is defined as unloading materials from an incoming semi-trailer truck and loading these materials directly onto outbound trucks, with little or no storage in between.
Special Service not only offers the use of its larger facilities for cross-docking for this direct transfer and immediate out-loading of freight, but also for situations where some handling and/or a short period of storage may be required for non-HAZMAT cargo before delivery, e.g.
Please note: We strongly discourage rugs, mattresses, kayaks, and other loose freight that’s awkward to move and lacking packaging protection from being tendered to us for transport.
If tendered, we reserve the right to turn down a damage claim if the packaging is found to be insufficient.
The insurance charge will increase if additional Cargo Insurance is requested AND formally accepted and charged for (See Terms & Conditions of Carriage).
